Isabella Jarsmer
The Isabella Boot is named after Isabella France Jarsmer, who works to promote greater equality in healthcare through research, debate, and communication. As a PhD student in biomedicine, Isabella is particularly passionate about women’s health, from menstruation to the role of sex hormones in disease. Alongside her research work, Isabella gives lectures and fosters dialogue across educational institutions, cultural organizations, and the media. Based on her own genetic mutation and increased risk of breast and ovarian cancer, Isabella works to strengthen scientific and ethical education as well as to deepen the understanding of women’s health. We are deeply inspired by Isabella’s ability to make complex topics accessible and engaging, and by her courage in bringing important conversations to the forefront. That is why we are also proud to let the Isabella Boot carry her name.
